What are the workouts like? Each workout is tailored to your goals/needs that we go over in your 1st free Goal Getter session. All workouts include warm ups, cool down, and occasional mobility work to prime your muscles for action. The exercises are strength/resistance training based with an emphasis on “progressive overload”, the principle of slowly & systematically increasing the strength & work load of your muscles over time to grow, get stronger, & keep progressing a.k.a. doing more work than your body did previously! #progress

Do I need a Doctor’s note? This depends if you have any existing current medical conditions, which would require a doctor’s authorization before exercising. During your 1st free Goal Getter session, we discuss any past or current injuries & medical conditions. Before your session, you’ll complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q), which asks a few simple questions about your medical history. (i.e. Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition & that you should only perform physical activity recommended by a doctor?) Depending on your answers, you may have to consult your physician before engaging in physical activity. After medical evaluation, seek advice from your physician on what type of activity is suitable for your current situation.
-
When will I see results? You’re unique with how quickly your body responds to change. Consistency & adherence to training AND nutrition are key to getting to those goals. While it’s up to you to implement these key components, I’ll be there to guide you through the process, provide advice, motivation, accountability, support, & answer any questions you may have. You got this!
-
What should I wear?Choose something to wear that you'll be comfortable moving & sweating in. Running or cross training shoes are encouraged (just no shoes with open toes for safety reasons). Active wear accessories such as hats, awesome knee socks, are all fine!
-
Should I eat anything before my personal training session/workout?Hangry is never fun and it’s important to fuel your body with energy beforehand so it can perform at its optimum level. About 30min-1hr before your session, try to grab a carb for energy (ex. banana or piece or fruit, oats, etc. ) to munch on & you're ready to power through your session!
-
Is butter a carb?Don't be like Regina George. Know your nutrition facts, lol. The simple answer is no. Butter is found under the umbrella of another macronutrient group known as fats/lipids. What's a macro you may ask?... A macronutrient (macro) is basically a nutrient required by the body for energy in large amounts to function, live, & thrive. Macronutrients are divided into three categories: protein, carbohydrates, & fat/lipids (the home of butter) ;)
